AN INTEGRATED PRODUCTION MODEL WITH FULL CONTROL OVER THE ENTIRE PROCESS

Estancia El Oasis

Estancia El Oasis is an agribusiness located in Leandro N. Alem, 120 km north of the city of San Luis, Argentina. Over the years, the estate has evolved from a traditional livestock operation into a highly advanced and fully integrated farming and livestock production model.

Our production system combines pasture-based backgrounding, feedlot operations, and cattle boarding services with an irrigated farming scheme based on center pivot irrigation, which allows us to produce our own grain and forage for cattle feeding.

We apply a pasture-based backgrounding system on Buffel grass pastures, preparing the cattle for their subsequent entry into the feedlot, where the finishing stage is completed with diets formulated with corn, forage triticale, and forage sorghum, the latter two used as fiber and produced on the farm.

This integrated model allows us to maintain full control over every stage of the production process, reduce dependence on climatic conditions, and ensure efficiency, animal welfare, product traceability, and consistent quality.

fully integrated production from start to finish

Production system

Our production model is based on the integration of every stage of the process: irrigated agriculture, in-house grain and forage production, pasture-based backgrounding, feedlot finishing with carefully formulated and controlled diets, cattle boarding services, and hospital pens operating under strict sanitary protocols.

This system is designed to make the most of abundant summer forage resources such as corn and sorghum. Sorghum is harvested, chopped, and ensiled to ensure optimal preservation throughout the year, while corn is harvested for grain. To a lesser extent, winter forage resources such as triticale help cover seasonal gaps in summer production and maintain continuity from one summer growing season to the next. This approach optimizes resources, ensures year-round stability, and supports an efficient, traceable, quality-driven feeding system with consistent nutrition throughout the year.
